ABOUT
Empowering Young Leaders
Model United Nations is an academic club for students to discuss issues the UN faces with a mock conference. After conducting research about a given topic, students will represent a country in a committee that represents real committees in the UN. At conferences, they will discuss current world issues with their peers and try to push policies and pass resolutions to ultimately solve the issue.

UCIMUN 2024
This weekend, IHS attended UCIMUN XXXII at the University of California, Irvine. It was a fruitful experience and delegates had a lot of fun. 8 delegates attended, of which Junior Ishaan Gaikwad won Outstanding and Sophomore Sriram Vaidhyanathan won Commendation and a Research Award. Additionally, it was a successful first conference for sophomore Achinthya Kashyap and Junior Andrew Han.
LAGUNA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL MUN
On February 24, Irvine High attended LHHSMUN at Laguna Hills High School. Junior Ishaan Gaikwad won Outstanding, Sophomore Kevin Chao won Commendation at his first conference, and Sophomore Sriram Vaidhyanathan won a research award. Sophomore Rohan Bhangay also experienced success in assassinating Blackbeard in a pirate-themed committee.

Secretary General
Mannat joined Irvine High's Model United Nations team her freshman year of high school. As a current junior, she is excited to serve as the Secretary General and continue her passion for public speaking while learning how to improve communication, research, and leadership skills. A few of her hobbies include playing with her dog, cooking, and painting.
